Free domain at grassroots.org
The official announcement:
Grassroots.org, a provider of free Internet and legal services to nonprofit organizations, today announced its offering of a free domain name to US and Canadian’s new and existing non-profit organizations of their choice for one year.
The arrangement is made possible through a partnership with the domain name registrar Moniker.com. Under the agreement, non-profit organizations will be able to register a new domain name or transfer their existing name. To receive the free domain name, along with free web hosting and web design, an application form has to be submitted along with proof of the organization’s non-profit status.
Jim Ward, President of Grassroots.org, states, “Grassroots.org is proud to partner with Moniker.com to provide non-profit organizations the use of a free domain name. Consistent with our mission to reduce costs for non-profits, this offering will allow those organizations addressing key areas of concern including civic participation, poverty, housing, healthcare and the environment, to build a web presence to promote their efforts. Free domain names are the first step for non-profits and charities who want to use Grassroots.org’s tools and services which include website design and development, online advocacy tools, issue promotion and more.”
Moniker CEO, Monte Cahn adds, “We are very happy to support Grassroots.org and their charitable efforts. Moniker.com has always contributed to our industry by providing free domain names at various tradeshows and through other giveaways.”
